Luke 18:15-17 – The Little Children and Jesus
“Enter”
I love everything about the Kingdom of God!
I especially love how peculiar and self-contradictory it seems, because it makes you realize it is very different from everything thing we have ever known. For instance, in this passage Jesus is asked to bless babies. The disciples, still vying for attention and status, rebuked those who brought the children and Jesus then rebukes them saying…
“I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
So the Kingdom of God enters you and yet you enter it.
That reminds me of so many of its of paradoxes.
The first will be last.
The humbled will be exalted.
That grace is getting what we don’t deserve and yet the more we show grace, the more we receive it.
Everything about the Kingdom is inside out, upside down and back to front and as we receive it into our lives as children, so we can allow it to do the same to our hearts and minds. We can only advance the Kingdom of God the way it wants to be advanced, it refuses to be forced on people but asks us to understand and love it.

Which again leads me to think, that we do not understand what the Kingdom really is. Children live the Kingdom, while adults try to control it.
